Life Lion Critical Care Transport – Safe Transportation for our Tiniest Patients

pennstatehershey.org Life Lion Critical Care Transport Nurse Jill Shoemaker explains what it takes to safely transport our tiniest patients. ————— Transcript: that we use to transport infants back here, to Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. This piece of specialized equipment is a ventilator. Very immature, premature infants can’t breathe on their own, so we take over that function for them, we breathe for them, usually through an endotracheal tube that’s been put in at an outside hospital. We take over their breathing and keep it controlled. Sometimes infants don’t need to be a complete intubation. All they need is CPAP so we can take over and just do that for them. On the end of the unit, we have a blender. We carry both air and oxygen. Very premature infants need oxygen, but they don’t need too much oxygen. Too much oxygen can be bad. So we can actually set the percentage of oxygen that they’re getting anywhere from 21%, which is room air that you and I get, to 100%, which is pure oxygen. We set that. We also carry syringe pumps so that if

Visit the band’s website at youarestars.com Buy the album at itunes.apple.com or www.amazon.com or store.youarestars.com Tell me everything that happened Tell me everything you saw They had lights, inside their eyes They had lights, inside their eyes Did you see the closing window Did you hear the slamming door? They moved forward and my heart died They moved forward and my heart died Please please tell me what they looked like Did they seem afraid of you? They were kids that I once knew They were kids that I once knew I can say it but you won’t believe me You say you do but you don’t deceive me It’s hard to know they’re out there It’s hard to know that you still care I can say it but you won’t believe me You say you do but you don’t deceive me Dead hearts are everywhere Dead hearts are everywhere Did you touch them Did you hold them Did they follow you to town? They make me feel I’m falling down They make me feel I’m falling down Was there one you saw too clearly Did they seem too real to you? They were kids that I once knew They were kids that I once knew I can say it but you won’t believe me You say you do but you don’t deceive me It’s hard to know they’re out there It’s hard to know that you still care I can say it but you won’t believe me You say you do but you don’t deceive me Dead hearts are everywhere Dead hearts are everywhere I can say it but you won’t believe me You say you do but you don’t deceive me

Arlene Dickinson Road to Riches HD

Arlene, thank you for an honest look into your life. I may not always agree with you, but you have my respect. ;) from DD season 4 Synopsis: “Arlene Dickinson, “Marketing Maven.” We meet Arlene by the pool at sunset at Casa Dickinson, overlooking the ocean in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. “It’s a lifetime away from Arlene’s frugal days as a single mother,” says the narrator. Arlene was born in Germiston, South Africa, near Johannesburg. Dickinson says she bought into the 60s notion of husband, house and kids. “I really did believe it was all about getting married and having children, which was really a goal for me. It was all I really ever wanted.” She married at 19, had four kids by 27, and then became a single working mom following her divorce. With no formal education and few skills, she took on a series of menial jobs. “There’s a lot of despair when you’re a single mom and you’re trying to take care of your children and take care of yourself, and you don’t really know how you’re going to do that…. How am I going to be able to manage this?” Her big break came from getting a marketing job with Venture Comunications, later becoming a partner, then
